Vestas has secured a 10-year service contract extension from EDP Renewables for the Blue Canyon I and II wind projects, located near Carnegie, Okla.
Blue Canyon I, which began producing energy in 2003, includes 45 1.65 MW Vestas model NM72 wind turbines. Blue Canyon II, which was completed in 2005, consists of 84 V80-1.8 MW turbines. Combined, the two sites total 225 MW.
The contract includes Vestas' active output management (AOM) 4000 service option, which guarantees defined turbine availability and productivity, and ensures the highest-possible output at all times, according to the company. The services also consist of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance as well as the replacement of major components and spare parts.
