Vestas locked in several new wind turbine orders totaling almost 700 MW in the last few days of 2015. In addition to deals in the U.S., the U.K., Finland and Brazil, the company recently announced orders in South Korea, Greece and China.
In South Korea, Vestas received a 76 MW order for 22 V112-3.45 MW turbines from development and construction firm Hanwha E&C. The project will be Hanwha E&C's first wind park and Vestas' third announced order in South Korea of 2015. Delivery and commissioning are expected in 2017. Vestas will be responsible for the supply of wind turbines and supervision of installation.
In Greece, Vestas won a 40 MW order from Elliniki Technodomiki Anemos SA for the Lyrkio wind farm. The contract includes the supply, installation and commissioning of 12 V112-3.3 MW turbines, as well as a 15-year service agreement. Turbine delivery is scheduled for the third quarter of this year, and commissioning is expected for the first quarter of 2017.
Finally, in China, Vestas secured a 50 MW order from long-term customer Hanas Group. The company will supply 25 of its V110-2.0 MW turbines for the Wanglejing Sunjialou wind park, and the deal includes a two-year service contract. Delivery and commissioning are expected in the second half of this year.
Vestas notes the 50 MW contract follows the 250 MW that Hanas Group ordered in November and will take Hanas' fleet of Vestas turbines to 900 MW.
