Vestas has confirmed that Vattenfall and MHI Vestas Offshore Wind have entered into a conditional agreement regarding delivery of the V164-8.0 MW turbine for the 400 MW Horns Rev 3 offshore wind project in Denmark.
MHI Vestas Offshore Wind was appointed the preferred supplier for the project last June. If and when the project translates into a firm and unconditional order, Vestas will disclose a further company announcement.
MHI Vestas Offshore Wind is a joint venture between Vestas Wind Systems A/S (50%) and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (50%). The company’s sole focus is to design, manufacture, install and service wind turbines for the offshore wind industry.
