UPC Wind's Mars Hill wind farm project was recently awarded the Maine State Chamber of Commerce Investor Award.
Newton, Mass.-based UPC is a developer, owner and operator of wind farms, and a long-term partner with local communities and the state of Maine.
New England's first utility-scale wind project, the Mars Hill wind farm, began its commercial operations in March. With the current generation from Mars Hill and its proposed Stetson project in Washington County, Maine, UPC Wind is projected to produce 312.5 million kWh of wind energy.
