Recent storms led wind energy production in the U.K. to break its all-time record, making up 12.2% of British energy generation on Dec. 28, Reuters reports.
The new record beat the previous one – 10% – by nearly 20%, Reuters says, citing RenewableUK.
Average wind power production between Dec. 1, 2011, and Jan. 5, 2012, covered 5.3% of the U.K.'s power demand, Reuters adds.
