The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) is seeking public comments on its draft environmental assessment of a wind power purchase agreement (PPA) with the proposed CPV Cimarron Renewable Energy Co. LLC in Gray County, Kan.
TVA has contracted with the company to buy up to 165 MW of wind power for 20 years. The project would have as many as 72 wind turbines, to be located on sections of a 13,900-acre area. Generation is expected to begin early next year.
The purchase is contingent on the potential environmental impacts of constructing and operating of the project.
