Lenexa, Kan.-based developer TradeWind Energy has been awarded the Private Sector Renewable Energy Award by Gov. Mark Parkinson, D-Kan. The award for demonstrated excellence recognizes TradeWind Energy's accomplishment in renewable energy and energy efficiency, according to the company.
‘It is inspiring to witness Kansans taking the initiative to capture our state's renewable energy potential,’ says Parkinson.
TradeWind Energy developed the state's largest wind project, the Smoky Hills Wind Farm. The 250 MW project was developed in partnership with Enel North America, which now owns and operates the project.
