According to the companies, the new joint venture, Katana Summit LLC, is currently building a manufacturing plant in Columbus, Neb. The plant will have the capacity to produce over 300 wind towers per year and is targeted to begin full-scale operations by mid-2008.

With this new manufacturing facility, the joint venture aims to increase its presence in the Midwest market, where demand for renewable energy is expected to increase sharply over the upcoming years, the companies add.
