Curtiss Wright Flow Control has announced that its SWANtech business unit has signed a contract to provide the SWANwind Health & Condition Monitoring System to the Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD), which owns and operates a 60 MW wind facility near Ainsworth, Neb. The amount of the contract was not disclosed.
‘We believe that the SWANwind system was selected because it clearly offers features that go beyond traditional condition monitoring, allowing wind turbine operators to stay ahead of the maintenance curve by detecting the onset of lubrication breakdown and component failure at the earliest stages,’ says Ralph Genesi, SWANtech president.
