Turbine manufacturer Suzlon Group reports it has secured more than 1 GW of global orders for its S9X wind turbine model that was introduced last April.
The company says its offering has already received major orders across key markets, such as Canada and the U.S. Germanischer Lloyd has certified that the S9X turbines that are already operational in the U.S. are delivering uptime levels above the industry standard, Suzlon says.
The S9X features larger rotor diameters, increased hub heights and technology enhancements, such as the doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) technology, resulting in 14% to 19% higher power output in comparison to earlier designs, Suzlon says.
