Suzlon’s REpower Subsidiary Reaches 1 GW Mark In U.K.

Suzlon Group subsidiary REpower Systems, a manufacturer of onshore and offshore wind turbines, has reached 1 GW of installed capacity in the U.K.

Since REpower UK reached 500 MW of installed capacity in 2010, the manufacturer has added a substantial number of wind farms to its portfolio in England, Scotland and Wales. These include the Penny Hill wind farm, which features six 3.4M104 turbines and was developed by Banks Renewables. By 2014, REpower UK is looking to secure 25% of the U.K. onshore market and 30% of the U.K. offshore market.

Andreas Nauen, CEO of REpower Systems SE, comments, "Reaching 1 GW of
installed capacity emphasizes the U.K. as one of REpower's core markets for our
onshore and offshore business."
