Turbine maker Suzlon Group has won a repeat turnkey order from independent power producer (IPP) Orange Renewable in India.
Under the new deal, Suzlon will provide and install 48 of its S111 turbines for a 100.8 MW wind project in Beluguppa, Andhra Pradesh. Suzlon says the 2.1 MW turbines each feature rotor diameters of 111.8 meters. The company will also offer operations and maintenance service for an initial period of 12 years through an integrated service package. The project will be commissioned starting fiscal year 2016-17.
Sudhir Nunes, CEO of Orange Renewable, states, "This is our second project with Suzlon and demonstrates our belief in Suzlon as a technology partner."
Ishwar Mangal, chief sales officer of Suzlon Group, adds, "With increasing demand from domestic and international IPPs, the wind energy sector has gained a pivotal role in bolstering the development of India's energy landscape."
