Suzlon Group has won a wind turbine order totaling 226.8 MW from an independent power producer (IPP) in India.
The order consists of 108 units of the S111 90-meter tubular tower with a rated capacity of 2.1 MW. The project, located in the Anantapur District of Andhra Pradesh, is scheduled for completion by March.
Suzlon has entered into an exclusive supply and installation agreement (SIA) agreement for the project. In addition, the company will be responsible for engineering, construction, and operations and maintenance, which includes lifecycle asset management services for an initial period of 10 years.
“The order win is a testament of increased interest and investments from independent power producers in the wind sector, and we are confident that the demand from IPPs will continue to grow,” comments J.P. Chalasani, group CEO of Suzlon. “We are working with most of the IPPs in India and they constitute [roughly] 80 percent of our current order book.”
