Suzlon has announced an order from independent power producer (IPP) Mytrah Energy to supply wind turbines for a 98 MW project in Telangana, India.

Under the deal, Suzlon will install and commission 47 of its S97 2.1 MW wind turbines with 120-meter hybrid towers. The company says its 120-meter hybrid tower, a combination of a lattice and tubular structure, is designed for low-wind sites and to ensure higher yield and increase power output by 12%-14% when compared to a 90-meter tower.

Suzlon says this latest order is the third from Mytrah under a 1 GW business partnership agreement the two parties signed in May 2010. The 98 MW project is scheduled for commissioning in 2016.
