Suzlon Group has won a 34-turbine order from Gujarat Industries Power Co. Ltd. for a 71.4 MW wind power project in the Kutch District of Gujarat, India.
Suzlon will install 29 S97-120M units and five S97-90M units, each with a rated capacity of 2.1 MW.
The project will be completed in three phases by April 2017. Suzlon will execute the entire project on a turnkey basis and will also provide operations and maintenance services for a period of 20 years.
The S97 series of the 2.1 MW tower features doubly fed induction generator technology, designed to maximize generation at lower-wind sites. The S97-120M is an all-steel hybrid tower that combines both lattice and tubular structures and is designed to harness wind resources at higher altitudes.
