At the official opening of the St. Lawrence Wind Project, Fabian Manning, a member of parliament, announced that the project, located in Newfoundland and Labrador, will receive up to $8.3 million.
‘Our partnership in this project is helping to generate new economic activity and is creating jobs for this community,’ says Manning. ‘This investment in St. Lawrence is another step toward a cleaner and sustainable energy future for Newfoundland and Labrador and for all of Canada.’
The nine turbines at the St. Lawrence Wind Power Project have a total capacity of 27 MW. The project is owned by Enel Atlantic Canada Limited Partnership. Electricity generated at the St. Lawrence project is being purchased by Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro.
