Sprott Power Corp., along with Firelight Infrastructure Partners LP, has closed C$45 million financing for its Nova Scotia wind project. The debt facility was arranged by Stonebridge Financial Corp., with funding provided by Great-West Life Assurance Co. and the Ontario Pension Board.
The 31.5 MW project is owned by SP Amherst Wind Power LP, a partnership between subsidiaries of Sprott Power and Firelight.
Construction commenced in May and is expected to be completed in the first fiscal quarter of 2012. The project's annual electric output is expected to be 98.5 GWh, which will nearly double the generation capacity currently under management at Sprott Power, according to the company.
