SKF USA Inc. has been awarded multiple contracts by Xcel Energy to supply automatic lubrication and condition monitoring systems for two of Xcel Energy's wind farms in Minnesota.
In the first of two projects, SKF will supply and install 134 SKF WindLub centralized lubrication systems for Xcel Energy's Nobles Wind Farm in southwest Minnesota. Installation is set to take place during the second quarter of this year.
The two companies have also agreed to a contract that will include the purchase of 67 SKF WindLub systems and 67 SKF WindCon condition monitoring systems for the 1.5 MW turbines at Xcel Energy's Grand Meadow project in southeast Minnesota. Additionally, SKF will provide remote monitoring services for Grand Meadow, including detailed fault reporting with recommended corrective actions. The project is expected to commence during the second quarter of this year.
