Chattanooga, Tenn.-based Signal Wind Energy LLC has been awarded the balance-of-plant (BOP) engineering and construction contract for the Casper Wind Project in Natrona County, Wyo.
The Casper Wind Project is being developed by Chevron Global Power and will be located on 880 acres of the former Texaco refinery site, located north of the Platte River.
Signal Wind is responsible for all design, engineering and construction for the project, which began in June. The scheduled completion date for the project is in the fourth quarter of this year.
The Casper Wind Project will consist of 11 1.5 MW GE SLE wind turbines. Each wind turbine generator will sit atop a 262-foot tower and will be driven by a rotor 250 feet in diameter.
