Siemens Energy has been awarded an order for 130 wind turbines, each rated at 2.3 MW, for two wind farms in the U.S. Siemens will supply 72 wind turbines for the Windy Point wind farm and 58 wind turbines for the Windy Flats wind farm near Goldendale, Wash. The purchaser is Cascade Wind Acquisition LLC, an affiliate of Cannon Power Corp., a San Diego-based wind project developer.
The Siemens scope of supply includes delivery, installation and commissioning of the 130 SWT-2.3-93 wind turbines. Commissioning is expected to begin in the fourth quarter of this year and continue through August 2009. Siemens will also provide service and maintenance for two years.
