Siemens has been chosen to supply, install and service 76 direct-drive turbines at Vattenfall's Pen y Cymoedd onshore wind farm, located in Wales, U.K.
The wind power plant will be developed in the coastal mountain range between the harbor city of Port Talbot and the county borough of Rhondda Cynon Taf. The project will feature 76 Siemens' SWT 3.0 direct-drive turbines for a total capacity of 228 MW.
Siemens expects the Pen y Cymoedd wind farm to power up in late 2016, and the company will provide maintenance services for five years.
