Under a 118 MW contract representing the debut order for its new 3.3 MW platform in Europe, Siemens Gamesa is supplying 36 wind turbines at the Baglar and Ardicli wind farms in the Turkish region of Konya.
Siemens Gamesa will install 20 G132-3.3 MW turbines (66 MW) at the Baglar wind farm and another 16 turbines of the same make (52 MW) at the Ardicli facility. Siemens Gamesa received the order from Turkish investor Sancak Enerji.
Delivery of the turbines is scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2018, and the facilities are slated for commissioning in 2019. Siemens Gamesa will also provide both facilities’ operations and maintenance services for five years.
The nacelles will be assembled in Agreda (Soria, Spain), while the towers and blades will be made in Turkey by local suppliers.
The company notes that the G132-3.3 MW turbine is designed to provide maximum output at sites with medium and medium-low wind speeds.
