Siemens Gamesa has secured its first order in Pakistan, an engineering, procurement and construction contract for 50 MW of wind turbines.
The company, in partnership with Sumec Hardware and Tools, will install 25 G114-2.0 MW wind turbines for independent power producer Zephyr Power Pvt. Ltd. The project will be situated in Gharo, located in the district of Thatta. Siemens Gamesa will also supply environmental kits designed to maximize turbine performance in high-dust and high-temperatures sites.
Installation of the turbines at the Zephyr Power wind farm is scheduled to begin toward the end of 2017. The project is slated for commissioning in August 2018.
Besides this maiden order in Pakistan, Siemens Gamesa’s Asian footprint also extends to Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, Sri Lanka, China and India.
