Siemens has been awarded a contract from Theolia, a French independent power producer, for the delivery, installation and commissioning of seven D3 platform turbines for a 21 MW onshore wind project in Haute Borne, France.
The Siemens SWT-3.0-101 direct-drive wind turbines are rated at 3 MW each and feature a rotor diameter of 101 meters. In addition, Theolia has signed a 20-year maintenance agreement for the project. Siemens says this long-term program includes a comprehensive parts and labor guarantee, thus assuring energy availability.
The project is slated for commissioning in August 2015.
