Shear Wind Inc. has announced that Glen Dhu Wind Energy LP's Glen Dhu project in Nova Scotia has achieved commercial operation. The first phase of the project consists of nine wind turbines with a nameplate capacity of 20.7 MW. The power is being sold to Nova Scotia Power Inc.
When fully operational, the project is expected to be 62.1 MW. The project, which consists of a total of 27 Enercon E-82 2.3 MW wind turbines, is scheduled for completion on March 31.
