Renewable energy consultancy SgurrEnergy has expanded its North American presence by opening a new office in Austin, Texas.
Complementing the company's two existing North American offices – located in Vancouver, Canada, and Portland, Maine – the new facility is well located to provide on-the-ground services to support the rapidly growing Texas wind and solar energy markets, says SgurrEnergy.
"Texas is the national leader in wind energy, with more installed capacity than any other American state," comments Tony Giustino, business development manager in the new office. "SgurrEnergy's Austin office gives us an ideal base to work with clients on optimizing their operating wind energy investments and successfully developing new ones."
SgurrEnergy says the establishment of the new facility comes as part of a wider three-year expansion plan announced in 2012, which has seen staff numbers more than double from 90 to over 200 in the past two years. Geographical expansion has been a particular goal, and new offices were launched in Brazil and Norway in 2012, Germany in 2013 and South Africa earlier in 2014.
