Senvion Wins 18 MW Order In Italy Senvion SE has signed a contract for the supply of six 3.0M122 turbines with PLC System's Burgentia Energia.

The turbines, with a rated output of 3 MW and a rotor diameter of 122 meters, will be delivered to the Brienza wind farm, which is located in Basilicata, Italy.

According to Senvion, the turbine's large rotor guarantees a high conversion of wind into electrical energy. The 90-meter steel towers will be manufactured in Italy. Delivery of the turbines will begin this summer. Senvion notes that it will also provide maintenance for five years after testing.

The wind farm – PLC's first wind project – will operate at full capacity by the end of the year.

Senvion says the wind turbine type – operating at a hub height of 90 meters – will be the first of its kind in the country.
