Senvion Dedicates Its Largest Onshore Project In Quebec Senvion Canada and developer EDF EN Canada celebrated the inauguration of the 350 MW Riviere-du-Moulin wind project, located in Quebec.

According to Senvion, the wind project consists of Senvion MM92 and MM82 wind turbines that are equipped with cold-climate packages. Several of the turbines are equipped with Senvion de-icing technology that is adapted for Quebec's cold climate conditions. It is the largest onshore contract in the history of Senvion.

The Riviere-du-Moulin wind project is part of a 1 GW framework agreement that Senvion signed with EDF EN Canada in 2009.

Since moving to Quebec in 2007, Senvion says it has made a point to source turbine components locally. The company says that the towers, converters and blades for the Riviere-du-Moulin wind project were supplied by the local supply chain in the Gaspesie region. For example, Marmen supplied the towers, LM Windpower manufactured the blades, and Woodward provided the converters.
