U.S. Senate debate on climate change legislation will likely be postponed until next spring, according to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and other Senate leaders.
The Wall Street Journal reports that healthcare legislation, job creation legislation and efforts to overhaul the financial markets will likely take precedence in the Senate.
In addition, backlash against cap-and-trade proposals and many Senate Republicans' reluctance to support these measures have impeded progress on a climate bill.
