SeaRenergy and Specialist Marine Consultants (SMC) have been awarded a 150-day contract to provide a broad range of offshore support services to the 402 MW Veja Mate wind farm, located in the German North Sea.
According to the companies, they began providing services as of Nov. 1, preparing the foundations and transition pieces for the installation of the towers and turbines.
As reported, the scope of work includes full project management; full marine logistics for the duration of the contract; cleaning offshore structures; monitoring the rate of marine growth on offshore structures; technical inspections and reports; checking, maintaining and replacing any damaged items on the offshore structures; assistance with the maintenance of the offshore substation; and transferring project personnel from the harbor to the worksite.
Tonni Bager, installation package manager at Veja Mate, says, “SeaRenergy and SMC have been a great support for Veja Mate from the very start of the project, and we are happy that we can continue our cooperation during the next phase of the project.”
The wind project, worth EUR 1.9 billion, is expected to be commissioned in late 2017.
