Seacat Shores Up Offshore Service Offerings

As it looks to bolster its fleet, offshore energy crew transfer vessel operator Seacat Services has tapped U.K.-based boat builder South Boats to build two 24-meter catamarans.

Seacat says that the catamarans, named Seacat Mischief and Seacat Magic, are scheduled to launch this October and January 2016, respectively. Additionally, the Seacat Courageous, a 26-meter catamaran, is scheduled to launch in mid-February.

Once complete, the vessels will expand the company's operational fleet to 11 and will be available for charter in both the domestic and wider European markets.

The company expects installation activity to steadily increase into 2017 – when several large projects get under way. Concurrently, demand for larger, more versatile crew transfer vessels to service deep water developments in Germany, Denmark, the Netherlands and Belgium will continue to grow as the offshore wind industry expands.
