Toronto-based Schneider Power Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Quantum Fuel Systems Technologies Worldwide Inc., has received its building permit to commence construction of the Arthur Wind Farm beginning May 24. The wind farm will comprise five Enercon wind turbines with a combined generating capacity of 10 MW.
The wind farm is located on 348 acres of private farmland in Arthur, Ontario.
During construction of the wind farm, local residents may experience temporary traffic delays on roads as equipment and turbine parts are delivered to the site, according to Schneider Power. The company says it will make every effort to warn local residents of upcoming traffic disruptions so that they may plan to take alternate routes.
