S&C Electric Co. has opened its Advanced Technology Center (ATC) in Chicago. The facility features a testing laboratory for S&C's products, which the company says will help it accelerate the development and delivery of smart grid solutions.
S&C adds that the center, which will largely focus on distribution technologies related to automatic service restoration, energy storage and power quality, provides a location for independent quality and performance verification testing, which customers often require before deploying equipment on their systems. The ATC will also house S&C's research and development offices, as well as its expanded polymer molding operations.
‘The ATC is a testament to our strong commitment to ongoing research and development to transform the delivery infrastructure that will power the intelligent grid,’ comments John Estey, president and CEO of S&C.
