The Southern Alberta Alternative Energy Partnership (SAAEP) and Lethbridge College are collaborating on a new initiative to build a common wind energy cluster action plan.
This plan supports the proactive marketing of this region for expanded development in wind-related technologies to worldwide corporations looking to establish or expand North American operations. This education and community partnership will promote southern Alberta as the preferred location for the operations, maintenance and management of the quickly growing wind industry.
‘One of the primary objectives of economic development is to expand on community capacity for new and expanded opportunities for investment,’ says Cheryl Dick, CEO of Economic Development Lethbridge. ‘This project between SAAEP and Lethbridge College will build a solid foundation for investment growth in the wind sector.’
This initiative is made possible through a funding partnership between SAAEP, Lethbridge College and Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada's Invest Canada – Community Initiatives program.
