Ridgeline Energy LLC and BP Wind Energy have announced full commercial operation of the Goshen North Wind Farm in Bonneville County, Idaho, six months after the project moved into full construction. The project has a generating capacity of 124.5 MW.
Located on an 11,000-acre site approximately 10 miles east of the city of Idaho Falls, the Goshen North Wind Farm utilizes 83 GE xle wind turbine generators, each with a rated capacity of 1.5 MW. The project employed approximately 250 workers during peak construction and will employ a full-time staff of approximately 10 workers who will monitor and maintain the site.
As part of the project delivery, approximately seven miles of overhead transmission line has been built to enable the wind facility to tie into an existing 17-mile, 161 kV line that connects to the Goshen substation. The power from the Goshen North Wind Farm has been sold under a long-term power purchase agreement to Southern California Edison.
The Goshen North Wind Farm is a 50-50 joint development venture between BP Wind Energy and Ridgeline Energy/Diamond Generating Corp. partnership. BP Wind Energy operates the wind farm.
