Republic Wind Hearings Postponed In Ohio

The Ohio Power Siting Board (OPSB) has postponed two hearings scheduled for Apex Clean Energy’s proposed Republic Wind project in Seneca and Sandusky counties.

The OPSB will reschedule the hearings at a later date. The postponements include a local public hearing in Green Springs on Oct. 2 and an adjudicatory hearing in Columbus on Oct. 15.

The OPSB says it postponed the hearings in response to a request from Republic Wind LLC to suspend the procedural schedule until the company files an application to amend the project as it is currently proposed. Republic Wind states that the amendment filing will address modifications to the proposed project, the board says.

As currently proposed, the wind farm would consist of up to 58 turbines situated across approximately 35,000 acres of leased private land in Adams, Pleasant, Reed, Scipio and Thompson townships in Seneca County, and York Township in Sandusky County. The wind farm would have a total generating capacity of up to 200 MW.
