Report: Global Wind Capacity Reaches Nearly 393 GW The global wind industry added 21,678 MW to its installed capacity in the first half compared with 17,600 MW in the first half of 2014 and 13,900 MW in the same period during 2013, according to a new report from the World Wind Energy Association (WWEA).

The total installed wind capacity of 392,927 MW at the end of June represents a 16.8% growth over year-ago levels, notes WWEA.

‘The world market for wind power is booming like never before, and we expect new record installations for the total year of 2015,’ says Stefan Gsanger, WWEA's secretary general. ‘The main markets are still China – with an astonishing growth of more than 10 GW within six months – [the U.S.], Germany and India.’
