Report: GE Books Its Largest-Ever Latin American Contract According to Bloomberg, GE has booked a contract with renewable energy developer Casa dos Ventos Energias Renovaveis SA to supply turbines to a 360 MW project in Brazil.

The 360 MW Ventos do Araripe III wind farm, located in Brazil's northeastern states of Piaui and Pernambuco, will be powered by 74 GE 2.3-107 wind turbines and 82 GE 2.3-116 wind turbines. The agreement also includes a 10-year service contract.

The deal represents GE's largest-ever in Latin America.


Casa dos Ventos has secured power purchase agreements for the wind complex in three energy auctions in 2013 and 2014. It is scheduled to begin commercial operation in April 2017. Bloomberg also reports that Casas dos Ventos is currently in talks with Brazilian development bank BNDES to secure financing for the wind farm.
