0

The Arizona Corporation Commission has approved a 54 MW renewable energy power purchase agreement (PPA) between utility Tucson Electric Power Co. (TEP) and Red Horse Wind 2 LLC.

The 20-year agreement, beginning in December 2014, grants TEP permission to purchase wind and solar energy, along with the associated renewable energy credits, from Red Horse Wind.

This PPA will allow TEP to obtain 51 MW of wind energy and 3 MW of solar energy, and the commission notes the agreement will help TEP fulfill the state's 15% by 2025 renewable energy standard.
