Ravenswood, Ontario's newest wind farm, is the first of its kind to be built and brought online with the help of the province's renewable energy standard offer program. The 10 MW, six-turbine facility is one of more than 200 contracts awarded through the program since November 2006.
The program encourages small, local, renewable energy projects and is expected to add another 1,000 MW of renewable power from these projects to Ontario's electricity system over the next 10 years.
The Ravenswood project – developed by Sky Generation, in partnership with Bullfrog Power – will help Ontario's total installed wind capacity surpass the 500 MW mark.
