Quebec Government Approves PPA For Community Wind Farm

Innergex Renewable Energy Inc. says that its 20-year wind energy contract with Hydro-Quebec has been approved by the Quebec government.

The 20-year power purchase agreement is for the Viger-Denonville community wind farm and was awarded by Hydro-Quebec last year.

Developed through a 50-50 joint venture with the Riviere-du-Loup RCM and located in the Quebec municipalities of Saint-Paul-de-la-Croix and Saint-Epiphane, the Viger-Denonville wind farm will include 12 wind turbines, for an installed capacity of 24.6 MW.

Construction is expected to start in spring 2013, and the project is scheduled to begin commercial operation in December 2013.
