Power-One Inc. has opened its first North American manufacturing facility in Phoenix. The facility will produce wind and photovoltaic inverters and is expected to eventually employ 350 people.
The facility is expected to reach a capacity of 1 GW worth of products by the end of the year, with available site capacity reaching 4 GW. The inverters manufactured at this facility will be installed in residential, commercial and utility settings.
Power-One's 122,000 square-foot Phoenix facility began operating in October 2010 and currently employs 40 people.
