Pattern Energy Explores Feasibility Of Hawaii Project

Pattern Energy plans to utilize a portion of Castle & Cooke Renewable Energy's 400 MW wind energy allocation under the Interisland Wind project to pursue a wind project on Molokai, Hawaii.

The Interisland Wind project proposes to build up to 400 MW of wind power on the islands of Molokai and Lanai. The power would be transported to Oahu via a subsea cable.

‘We are exploring the feasibility of a project on Molokai Ranch and look forward to learning how a wind project could best provide clean energy to Hawaii and meaningful benefits to Molokai,’ says David Parquet, director of special projects at Pattern Energy.

Pattern Energy has been identified by Molokai Ranch as the preferred wind developer should a wind project be developed on the ranch, and Pattern has an agreement with the ranch to explore that opportunity.
