Partnership Aims To Power First Nations Communities With Wind Energy

0

Clenergen Corp. says it has reached an agreement with Niskibi Power Corp. (NPC) to supply up to 1 GW of renewable energy in partnership with the First Nations communities in Ontario and elsewhere in Canada.

According to Clenergen, the joint venture will capitalize on the company's relationships with wind turbine manufacturers and biomass gasification companies in order to supply power-generation equipment at a low cost.

Many remote communities across Canada currently rely on high-cost diesel power generation. The joint venture will initially focus on sites that can be smoothly connected to the national grid and that will generate either wind energy or hydropower, with a focus on projects 30 MW and larger.
