San Francisco-based utility Pacific Gas and Electric Co., a subsidiary of PG&E Corp., has entered into a long-term agreement with Klondike Wind Power III LLC, a subsidiary of Iberdrola Renewables, to purchase 90 MW of wind energy from the Klondike wind facility in Sherman County, Ore.

‘Acquiring more clean wind power is a key part of PG&E's commitment to providing our California customers with reliable, environmentally responsible energy,’ says Fong Wan, vice president of energy procurement for PG&E.

The project will generate approximately 260 million kWh of renewable energy annually. Deliveries are expected to begin in December.
