Nordic renewable energy company OX2 has been chosen as the engineering, procurement and construction contractor for the 112 MW Raskiftet wind farm in Norway.
The client is a joint venture company held by German municipal utilities company Stadtwerke Munchen and its Norwegian counterparts, Eidsiva Energy and Gudbrandsdal Energy. The project, to be delivered turnkey, is OX2’s first construction project in Norway.
Austri Vind, which is owned by Gudbrandsdal Energy and Eidsiva Energy, has worked on development of the project since 2010 and has cooperated with OX2 since 2015 in order to, among other things, secure financing. Now, the entry of Stadtwerke Munchen as a majority shareholder will enable OX2 to start the construction work.
The wind farm will be built in Raskiftet in the municipalities of Åmot and Trysil. Comprising 31 turbines, the project is expected to be commissioned at the end of 2018. It will then produce approximately 370 GWh of power each year, says OX2.
