Electricity generation from Ontario's commercial wind farms hit 24,022 MWh on Oct. 26, providing almost 6% of the province's electricity needs and powering nearly 900,000 homes for the day, Ontario's Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) reports.
Wind generators produced 1,056 MW of electricity, which is a new record for hourly output, according to the IESO. This represents a 91% capacity factor.
