The Ontario Energy Board has issued a notice of proposal to amend the distribution system code (DSC) to ensure viable generation projects, particularly renewable generation projects, are connected to the distribution system in a timely manner.
The board believes it is important to move forward with these proposed code changes at this time to address the current backlog of generation projects waiting to connect to the distribution grid.
The board is confident the proposed amendments are consistent with the recently passed Green Energy and Economy Act of 2009 but recognizes further amendments may be required in the future as the role of renewable generation in Ontario evolves.
