The Voivode of Pomerania has decided on the site of the onshore connection for RWE’s F.E.W. Baltic II offshore wind farm, in the municipality of Redzikowo (formerly the municipality of Słupsk).

The decision covers the substation connection and technical infrastructure construction, as well as cable placement, to be operated by the Polish national grid operator, PSE.

“The construction of the onshore substation is one of the key elements of the F.E.W. Baltic II connection infrastructure,” says RWE’s Tomasz Kreft. “It allows electricity from the offshore substation to be transferred to land and fed into the national power system. F.E.W. Baltic II offshore wind farm will be able to produce enough green electricity to supply the equivalent of approximately 350,000 Polish households.”

The 350 MW wind farm in the Polish Baltic Sea covers an area of approximately 41 sq. km, is located approximately 50 km from the coast, north of Ustka. RWE is to implement the entire project.

In 2021, the Polish Energy Regulatory Office granted RWE a Contract for Difference for the site, subject to approval by the European Commission.
