The Ontario Municipal Board (OMB) has completed the first of two hearings in connection with Canadian Hydro Developers Inc.'s Melancthon II Wind Project. An oral decision was provided by the OMB on the portion of Melancthon II located in Melancthon, Ontario. As a result, Canadian Hydro expects to receive all of the necessary permits required from Melancthon regarding construction and operation of Melancthon II, allowing construction to proceed in the township this year.
The company says that it is continuing its assessment of the impact, if any, that the OMB hearing dates may have on the construction schedule and capital costs of Melancthon II and will issue an update on this assessment following the decision from the OMB hearing for Amaranth, Ontario.
